Summary

The Wisconsin Legacy Society is a recognition society that honors and celebrates alumni and friends who have made a commitment to support the University of Wisconsin–Madison through a planned, or deferred, gift. These future gifts contribute to the growth and success of UW–Madison, and they will benefit future generations of UW students and faculty.

What are the benefits of membership?

Wisconsin Legacy Society members receive a certificate of membership recognizing their generous support of UW–Madison, as well as a special Wisconsin Legacy Society picture frame as small tokens of appreciation for their gifts.

Members also receive a subscription to Legacy, a newsletter that explores various ways to plan an estate and includes updates on legal and tax changes that may affect planning. Members may be occasionally be featured in Legacy or Dividends, or on the UW Foundation website.

In addition, members receive special invitations to UW–Madison alumni events.

How can a donor become a member?

To become a member of the society, a donor can simply contact the Office of Gift Planning. A member of our team will work with the donor to document their future gift so that our records accurately reflect their intentions.
